Side photos offer another perspective of the pole. These are especially helpful when equipment or vegetation blocks attachments from other views. Stand at a 45 degree angle different from where you took the pole height photo. You should zoom in on the pole and frame it so that you can see the top primaries or cables down to the lowest bolted attachment. You do not need to capture the bottom portion of the pole and the height stick will not be in this photo.
After your side photo, you will take your second hallway (see hallway photo section) and this should position you near the next midspan. You may need to wait for your teammate to complete taking all of their photos but once both team members have captured all the required data, the main camera operator will press "Done" on the pole and begin the process again at the next midspan or critical crossing.
