Sidewalk braces (also called sidewalk guys) are used to keep guy wires out of pedestrian pathways while still providing necessary pole support. The configuration directs the guy wire diagonally from the pole to a mid-pole strut, then vertically down to the ground anchor, ensuring the lower portion doesn't create a hazard or obstruction on sidewalks.
There are few steps in order to correctly annotate and model sidewalk braces. After down guys have an annotated and linked to their respective anchors, you can annotate the sidewalk brace at the bolt on the pole. Choose the "guying" input and select sidewalk brace for the guying type. Then, there are two attributes that need to be added to the marker:
"Sidewalk brace ID" is a unique identifier for this specific brace at the pole. You may use any unique identification (and you can reuse it on future poles as well) but will need to paste the same ID attribute and input on each down guy that uses this sidewalk brace.
"Sidewalk brace spec" will be used for pole loading and only needs added on the sidewalk brace annotation.
