Risers direct power and communications cables to underground routes. Primary cables, secondary cables, or communication cables can all feed into different risers and will be used to set the riser type attribute.
Annotating risers is slightly different compared to our usualy rule. Instead of marking the riser at the point of attachment, you will annotate it at the top of the riser where the cables feed into it. This is actually height of the riser and will be used to factor in make ready clearance rules.
There are two attributes you will want to keep track of if performing pole loading, the riser type (such as primary, secondary, comms) and the riser spec (size and material of the riser).
Primary risers are used to feed primary cables to underground routes and transformers.
Secondary risers feed secondary cables for servicing customers. These are often times coming from transformers on the pole. Comms risers are usually much lower on the pole.
