The midspan classification is a routine that will classify the photo, calibrate the height stick, and prep the photo for make ready rules. The best way to begin the routine is to use the shortcut (by default it's the letter 'm').
Once you initiate the calibration routine, you'll notice directions in the bottom left of the window and details in the top left. The 16.5' height marker is the top most marker on the height stick. It is important to calibrate the stick accurately so you will want to zoom in so that you mouse cursor fills up the white square centered in the black rectangle on the stick.
As soon as you place the 16.5' marker, you'll notice the detail in the top left has changed to 14.5'. This is the next marker on the height stick. You can use the space bar or down arrows on your keyboard to scroll down the photo until you find the next target sticker. Once again, accurately place the marker in the center of the white square. You will continue this for the additional three height markers: 10.5', 6.5', and 2.5'.
After all five calibration markers have been placed, the midspan photo chip will appear in the top right of the screen and should prompt you to select the correct over detail. Choose the best option based on where the height stick was placed in the photo. This will prep the span for make ready later in the process.
