The default drawing tools are not unique to Katapult Pro mobile and in a lot of circumstances should be utilized from the office ahead of field deployment. However, there will be situations where these tools do need to be used in the field to collect specific data and update maps.
The anchor tool will be used to draw and record anchor and downguy information. Using this tool will run you through prompts for each data point needed.
After selecting the starting node, you will enter the lead length and choose if the downguys are in line with a deadend span or bisecting a throughline. Then press "Select Next Point."
The next attributes that are needed are:
Rod Size is the thickness of the anchor.
Eyes are on the anchor. Usually 1-3 and separated by ridges.
DG Strand Size is the amount of tension the guy wire can hold. It is important that you record a stand size for each downguy present at the anchor and go in a universal order, starting with the top bolted downguy and working down in order.
Auxiliary Eyes (aux eyes) are bolted eyelets attached to the anchor.
Anchor elevation is relative to the base of the pole.
More detailed information on using this tool will be covered in the Anchors & Downguys section.
This tool will draw connections and adjacent poles, meant as additional parts of the application or route. After selecting the tool, you select the starting node, drag the center to the next pole, and press "Select Next Point." The tool will automatically place poles and aerial connections and will allow to draw additional poles and aerial connections if needed.
The add for loading tool is situational and will be used in pole loading workflows. In the scenario where an attaching pole is also the load end (or low end) of an existing pole-to-pole guy, the adjacent pole should be fully collected (height shots, context data, and references from it).
References are any bolted leads to adjacent poles. The com ref tool will be used anytime there are aerial communications cables in the span, regardless if power is present or not. A standard midspan height photo will be collected here but usually there is not a need to collect data at the reference pole.
Again, references are any bolted leads to adjacent poles. The pwr ref tool will be used anytime there is only power attachments in the span. In place of a normal height photo, a "hallway" photo can be associated to the midspan. Usually, you do not need to collect any data at the reference pole.
The "Other" tool is a catch all used for any other situation. The tool will draw connections and nodes with blank attributes. The user will then be prompted to provide inputs for connection type and node type
