Overlay images allow you to add visual reference materials directly onto your map. When adding an image overlay, make sure to use one of the approved file types (.png, .jpg, .webp, .gif, or .bmp) that are less than 10MB in size.
To add an overlay image, click "Manage Layers" in the Map Layers panel, then click the "Choose File" button under the "Manage Overlays" section and search for the file you want to add.
Once your image is added to the map, click on the image to display a Katapult icon. This anchor serves as a handle to move the overlay image around the map. If you need to rotate the image to match up with the map features, click on the photo again to add a second Katapult icon, which acts as a pointer. This pointer can be used to rotate the image or resize it as needed.
If you need to reposition the photo or change the rotation nodes, click the "Reset Nodes" button in the "EDIT OVERLAY" window at the bottom of the screen to start the positioning process again.
In the "EDIT OVERLAY" window, you can name your overlay in the "Overlay Name" field. You can also adjust the image's opacity using the scroll bar in the middle of the window. Once the image is positioned and configured to your satisfaction, click "Glue to Map" to finalize the image's placement.
After the overlay is set, return to the Imported Layers section to turn on the overlay file and begin predesigning within or over the image overlay as needed. If you forgot to name the overlay or wish to rename it later, go to "Manage Layers" under the "Imported Layers" section of the Map Layers menu, find the overlay underneath "Manage Overlays," and click the text to rename it. You can also delete the overlay from this location if needed.
