Pushbraces, or push poles, serve as an alternative form of guying where traditional down guys or aerial guys cannot be installed. Traditional guying works by pulling the pole in the direction of the guy wire whereas pushbraces push the pole in the opposite direction. Pushbraces are used in areas where anchors for down guys cannot be installed, usually because of roadways or parking lots.
To begin extracting a pushbrace, draw a node and connection on the map that connects to the pole you're working on. Set the node type attribute to "pushbrace," then set the connection type attribute to "pushbrace" as well. This establishes the pushbrace structure on your map and can be done from the field or office with enough data.
Next, complete the annotation from the photo. Click at the bolt location where the pushbrace attaches and select "guying" from the options. Set the guying type to "pushbrace," then specify the appropriate pushbrace spec.
