Once again, the general rule will be to place wire photo inputs where they are bolted at the pole. Click in the photo and choose "wire." Katapult Pro will initiate the cable tracing routine and you have the option to complete the trace across all photos. It is often best practice to press the escape key, however, to end the tracing routine. We will come back to cable tracing later.
From here you will want to enter the cable type and company. The cable type will be used directly for make ready and pole loading and the company attribute will impact some make ready features as well as several data exports. When annotating for power, it's a good idea to choose the company and then select the box for "Set as Default." This will automatically set the company for power attachments moving forward. You do not need to check the default box for comms attachments.
Any aerial cable will start as a "wire" input, whether it's power, comms, or even overhead guy wires. Down guys will get annotated differently later on in the process.
Similar to the insulator annotation, if wires are not directly attached to the pole (i.e. a neutral on a deadend insulator) just annotate slightly below the insulator input. We will move it in the next step.
The cables in the power space will include primaries (blue), neutrals (white) and secondaries (orange).
The comms space of the pole will be below the power cables and can include cable/tv (orange), fiber optic cables (white), and telephone cables (blue).
