The Hardware Details tool is specifically designed for pole loading workflows. By the end of a pole loading analysis, every real-world object on the pole must have an assigned spec, and many will also require bearing information. Throughout the entire process, much of this data will be populated automatically based on the collected and extracted information. However, certain details will still need to be entered more manually, and the Hardware Details tool is designed to help you input this information efficiently while ensuring accurate data entry.
The Hardware Details tool is represented by a purple wrench icon, most commonly found in your Office Tools toolset or, more conveniently, in the bottom-left corner of each pole photo in Cable Trace view. The tool accessed from the Map page will be used toward the end of the process and runs the routine for the entire job. However, the tool on the individual pole photo is specific to that pole and is therefore recommended at this stage in the process. Once you click the tool, you'll be prompted on the Map page to choose which details you want to enter as part of the routine. While all of these options are eventually needed, there is a more efficient method for entering power cable specs, so we recommend unchecking that option at this point. Once you have your settings configured, click "Enter Hardware Details" to begin.
In the following sections, we'll explore the different data inputs that are part of the Hardware Details routine and how to complete them effectively.
